The Republican candidate for the White House elections, former President Donald Trump, considered on Friday that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who entered into a war with Russia in early 2022, should never have allowed this war to break out.
Trump also accused his Democratic successor, Joe Biden, of being the “inciter of this war,” at a time when Ukrainians and many of Washington’s European allies fear that the United States will stop its military aid to Ukraine if the billionaire returns to the White House.
In an interview with Patrick Bet-David, a businessman who broadcasts an online program, Trump said that regarding Ukraine, “note that Ukraine is not Ukraine anymore.”
He added that in this country, “almost every city has been razed to the ground, all these wonderful golden domes are on the ground, they have become rubble.”
“This does not mean that I do not want to help him (Zelensky) because I feel sorry for these people,” he continued.
It was Trump’s harshest remark about Zelensky since their meeting in late September in New York.
The former president stressed that Biden bears responsibility for failing to avoid the outbreak of this war.
“If we had a president with half a brain, this problem would be easy to solve,” he said.
“I mostly blame him. He said exactly the opposite of what he should have said. He was the instigator of this war,” he added.
The Republican candidate continues to assert that he can resolve the Ukrainian crisis within 24 hours if he wins the elections scheduled for November 5.
According to Trump, the war will be stopped thanks to the respect he will impose on the international scene and through his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump also repeatedly says that if he were president, the war in Ukraine would not have broken out.
