The Coordination Framework, which brings together the Shiite political forces, revealed on Thursday that Iraq has taken several steps in anticipation of an Israeli attack during the next stage.
According to the representative of the framework, Alawi Al-Bandawi, who spoke to Shafaq News Agency, “The Iraqi government has taken several steps in anticipation of an Israeli attack during the next stage, and the security and military forces are ready for any emergency, noting that “the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, is in meetings and continuous communication with the military and security leaderships, and he had a meeting recently with the Joint Operations Command.”
Al-Bandawi added that “Iraq has taken measures and steps in anticipation of an Israeli attack on the military and security levels and even on the level of ministries and others, especially since the Zionist entity always threatens, and is now doing everything without any international deterrent and everything is expected from it, and the threats must be taken seriously and there must be caution and care, and this is what the government has worked on.”
The representative of the Coordination Framework did not reveal more details about the measures taken by the military and security leadership in Iraq, due to the sensitivity of the issue, he said.
These measures come amidst the great tension witnessed in the region, following the recent strikes in Lebanon, the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, and the recent Iranian missile attack on Israel, in a major escalation that threatens a war that will affect Iraq and several countries in the Middle East.
