Former MP Hassan Fadham confirmed today, Saturday, that the issue of removing all American forces from the country is sovereign and no force can reject it.
Faddam said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, “The government officially demanded from the American side to withdraw all its forces from Iraq and its implementation includes all Iraqi governorates,” noting that “the issue of withdrawing these forces is sovereign and no force can reject it.”
He added that “the attempts raised by some political forces regarding keeping these forces will not deter the government from working to possess full sovereignty,” noting that “the continuation of this presence in Iraq is illegitimate, especially after the decision of the House of Representatives.”
He added: “The interference in Iraqi internal and external politics by Washington has become unbearable,” indicating that “the presence of these forces has greatly harmed the country’s security.”
The Washington Post confirmed that the United States will withdraw its forces from Iraq over the next two years, but will keep a small force in the Kurdistan region, according to a plan agreed upon by American and Iraqi officials, it claimed.
