The Iraq Britain Business Council (IBBC) has welcomed three new members:
Saudi-based Alkhorayef Group operates in the agricultural machinery, food distribution, oil technologies and water sectors, and partners with many of the largest global brands operating in KSA, including Volvo, Penta and Castrol. It operates in 40 countries, and employs more than 8,000 people.
Daax Construction has completed many major projects in Azerbaijan, and is the lead contractor on the new Zaha Hadid-designed Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) headquarters in Baghdad.
Control Risks, the UK-based specialist risk consultancy, has been in Iraq since 2003, and was a founder member of the IBBC. It is now re-joining the IBBC, and has offices in Erbil, Basra, and Baghdad. link
CandyKisses: Iraq invites advanced Spanish companies to participate in transport projects
Today, Thursday, Minister of Transport, Razzaq Mohibis Al-Saadawi, invited advanced Spanish companies to contribute to Iraqi transport projects.
And the ministry’s media stated in a statement received by “Baghdad Today”, that “the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhibis Al-Saadawi, made an official visit to the Spanish capital, Madrid, accompanied by a number of general directors in the ministry to discuss joint cooperation between the two sides in the transport sector.”
The statement indicated that “the Minister of Transport met during the visit with the Spanish Minister of State for Trade Affairs, Chiana Mendez, in the presence of the Iraqi Ambassador to Madrid, Saleh Al-Tamimi, and during the meeting, they discussed ways of bilateral cooperation and invited advanced Spanish companies in the transport sector to contribute to Iraqi projects in the field of land, sea and air transport.” .
He pointed out that “a preliminary date has been set for the meetings of the joint Iraqi-Spanish committee in early October of this year.”
The statement continued, “Al-Saadawi also met with the Spanish company Consultran, which specializes in railways and high-speed trains, and presented the capabilities of the leading company in the world, which implemented projects in the Arabian Gulf, including the Al-Haramain project in Saudi Arabia, which cost seven billion euros for a distance of 450 kilometers,”
Noting that ” Al-Saadawi’s visit to the capital, Madrid, comes as part of the work to complete the development projects of the Ministry of Transport and to raise the level of services provided to keep pace with the global development taking place in the field of transport. link

Turk182: None of this is adding up. The Budget has been Approved by Parliament, Ratified & Approved by the President, and Officially Posted in the Gazette. We have always been told that one had nothing to do with the other. The CBI Controls the Exchange Rate of the IQD. Now, from what you’re saying, it is now up to Sudani to release this? None of this is adding up. Can’t keep flip-flopping. Is the CBI in control of this or is Sudani?

Clare: Parliamentary efforts to legislate a law that will soon end the disputes between Baghdad and Erbil

The Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee revealed, on Wednesday, that the oil and gas law will be put forward during the next legislative term, considering its passage as a solution to all disputes between Baghdad and Erbil.
“The oil and gas law is one of the important laws that falls within the government’s priorities,” said committee member Bassem Al-Gharibawi, in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency. He suggested that “the law will be presented during the new legislative term.”
Al-Gharibawi added, “There is an intention among all political parties to proceed with enacting the law to regulate the process of oil, gas and natural resources and share their revenues.”
He pointed out that “the legislation of the law will end the differences between the federal government of Baghdad and the regional government and will regulate the oil and financial relationship between the provinces and districts and between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government.”
The representative of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Nermin Maarouf, had revealed the formation of a joint committee between the Baghdad and Erbil governments to prepare a draft oil and gas law. LINK

Militia Man The hydrocarbon law/oil and gas law….is going to be based off what their exchange rate is and the value of oil…It will be put for a vote during the current parliamentary session…my assumption here is once they apply an international exchange rate they’ll have the valuations they need to be able to complete the process…I think they have the support from around the world to be able to do that…
